📖 The Farting Daughter-in-Law

(방귀쟁이 며느리)

옛날 옛적에 방귀를 아주 크게 뀌는 여인이 살고 있었어요.

 Long ago, there lived a woman who could fart very loudly.

그녀는 얼굴이 예쁘고 마음씨도 착했지만, 방귀 소리가 어마어마했어요.

 She was beautiful and kind, but her farts were incredibly loud.

그 여인은 어느 마을의 총각과 결혼하여 시댁으로 들어가게 되었어요.

 She married a young man from a village and moved in with his family.

하지만 결혼 후 며느리는 방귀가 걱정되어 한참을 참고 있었어요.

 But after the wedding, she held in her farts out of fear and embarrassment.

시어머니는 며느리가 조용히 있는 모습을 이상하게 생각했어요.

 Her mother-in-law thought it was strange that the daughter-in-law was so quiet.

며느리는 결국 배가 너무 불러 밖으로 나가 혼자 방귀를 뀌었어요.

 Eventually, her stomach was so bloated that she went outside and farted alone.

그 방귀 소리에 산이 울리고 나무가 쓰러졌다고 해요.
[Geu] [bang-gwi] [so-ri-e] [san-i] [ul-ligo] [na-mu-ga] [sseu-reo-jyeot-da-go] [hae-yo].
 It’s said that the fart was so loud that mountains shook and trees fell over.

시댁 식구들은 놀라서 며느리에게 왜 그렇게 참았냐고 물었어요.
[Si-daek] [sik-gu-deul-eun] [nol-la-seo] [myeo-neu-ri-e-ge] [wae] [geu-reo-ke] [cha-mat-nya-go] [mu-reo-sseo-yo].
 The in-laws were shocked and asked why she held it in for so long.

며느리는 창피해서 참았다고 하자, 모두 크게 웃었어요.

 When she said it was because she was embarrassed, everyone laughed.

그 뒤로 며느리는 편하게 방귀를 뀌며 가족과 잘 지냈어요.

 After that, she farted freely and lived happily with her family.

가족은 그녀의 진심과 배려심을 이해하게 되었어요.

 The family came to understand her sincerity and thoughtfulness.

이 이야기는 겉모습보다 사람의 마음을 보는 것이 중요하다는 교훈을 줘요.
