Overview
In Korean, there are special grammatical
forms to express:
- What you think will happen (guess, assumption)
- What you intend or plan to do (intention)
We’ll focus on two useful forms:
- -(μΌ)γΉ κ² κ°λ€
= It seems like / I think it will ~
- -(μΌ)λ €κ³ νλ€ =
I plan to / I'm about to ~
πΈ 2. -(μΌ)γΉ κ² κ°λ€: Expressing Guess
✅ Meaning
This form expresses guess, assumption,
or possibility.
Like “It looks like”, “I think it will”, or “might” in English.
✅ Structure
Verb/Adj. stem + -(μΌ)γΉ κ² κ°λ€
- κ°λ€ → κ° κ² κ°λ€
- λ¨Ήλ€ → λ¨Ήμ κ² κ°λ€
- νλ€ → ν κ² κ°λ€
✅ Examples

κ² κ°μμ. = I think it’s going
to rain.

λ³Έ κ² κ°μμ. = I think I did well
on the test.

✅ Meaning
Used to show intention, plan, or
upcoming action.
Equivalent to “I plan to ~” or “I’m going to ~”
✅ Structure
Verb stem + -(μΌ)λ €κ³

- μ½λ€ → μ½μΌλ €κ³ νλ€
- νλ€ → νλ €κ³ νλ€
✅ Examples

out.
